Flatbed trucks can move loads that are not easily moved in a dry van. At R & S, we are currently working to expand our flatbed services.
We have access to the following types of flatbed types:
HAZMAT & TANKER ENDORSED
At R & S, we are authorized to move all classes of hazardous materials (including class 6.1). We also have relationships with tanker endorsed drivers across the country to cover your hard to move freight.
LESS THAN TRUCKLOAD
Less than Truckload (LTL) shipping is typically used for freight that consists of: 1-6 pallets, requires less than 12 linear feet of space, and weighs no more than 10,000 lbs. These shipments are not considered time sensitive and do not require a dedicated truck. Often, it is a more cost-effective way to transport smaller shipments. At R & S, we have generous pricing already established with numerous local and national carriers.
As an LTL customer, we will take care of the following:
Generate the Bill of Lading and necessary labels.
Dispatch carriers directly to your dock.
Track and Trace your shipment from pickup through to delivery.
Audit invoices and pay the carrier on your behalf.
PARTIAL & VOLUME
A shipment greater than 5,000 lbs, 6 pallets or more and taking up 12 to 32 linear feet of trailer space qualifies as Volume LTL. Shipping as volume LTL will usually come with a lessor “spot quote” for pricing and will be moved as capacity allows. Your freight will most likely be transferred from the original pick up trailer and will be moved with an LTL carrier. This comes in handy for freight that does not have time restraints for delivery.
Partial truckloads are usually over 6 pallets but less than a full load. This method of shipping allows your freight to stay on the same truck for the duration of transit. Partials are moved using a truckload carrier and therefore transit times are better than shipping volume LTL. Your pricing will be based on the amount of space and transit time you require.
Refrigerated trucks can handle all of your temperature controlled shipments. At R & S, we can provide you with refrigerated trucks for all of your temperature sensitive shipments ranging from -10 degrees to 80 degrees, continuous flow or cycle, and even protect from freeze and protect from heat freight.
Dry Truckload is an option utilized for large freight shipments. At R & S, we utilize innovative software to help us establish strong relationships with carriers across the country. We can find various truck sizes ranging from box trucks to 53ft dry vans for your shipments. Depending on the truck, we can typically accommodate freight weighing up to 45,000lbs.
Liquid Bulk Transportation is the process of moving liquid by a tanker trailer instead of utilizing individual drums or totes. We have a carrier base to haul hazardous material as well as non-hazardous.
